Brisbane Roar will welcome back captain Tom Aldred from injury when they face Melbourne Victory on Monday night and the defender is desperate to make up for lost time.
Roar sit bottom of the ladder and are priced at 5/2 to pick up the wooden spoon, but Aldred is keen to ensure that does not happen.
Aldred has yet to play this season after picking up a knee injury in pre-season and he admits it has been the toughest period of his long career.
The Englishman was also in and out of the side with hamstring issues last season but is now hopeful his problems are behind him as he looks to make an impact.

"This process I've been for through for probably the last like six-seven months has been the worst period in my career," the 31-year-old said.
"I've never had a significant injury like this where I've been out for a prolonged period of time and I can say it has been frustrating, but for me now I want to look forward. Physically wise, I think my body's ready and I think my body's good enough to cope."
Meanwhile Aldred believes that Brisbane have enough quality in their side to start climbing the ladder and they just need to start stringing some results together.
Monday night's clash at AAMI Park will be a tough one but would be a great place to start.
"I feel like we've got a squad there that can put results together and if you do that you can find yourself in a completely different position in two, three, four games," Aldred added. "That's what we want to do.
"We want to start getting some consistency, solid base to build on and points and consistent results both home and away. Obviously, our away game on Monday night is probably not a bad place to do it."
