Charlie Appleby and Godolphin will have three chances at winning next week’s Cazoo Derby after it was confirmed Nations Pride will be supplemented for the race.
The prestigious Classic, which is due to be held at Epsom on 4th June and is available to follow on our Sports Live Streaming platform, has been won by Appleby and Godolphin twice in the last four years, with Masar in 2018 and Adayar last year.
Lingfield Derby Trial second Walk Of Stars and Blue Riband Trial winner Nahanni will also sport the famous Godolphin silks in the race, but Nations Pride, priced at 6/1, could well prove the most interesting of the three after connections confirmed they would supplement the three-year-old at a cost of £75,000.
Nations Pride has won four races in a row, including a most impressive seven-length victory in the Listed Newmarket Stakes last time out.
He could now add to a tremendous Classic haul for Appleby this season, with the trainer having already savoured victories in the English, French and Irish 2,000 Guineas with Coroebus, Modern Games and Native Trail respectively.

"He worked on Wednesday with a reliable and very able lead horse and he looked very good. Importantly, he has done well since and I have been delighted with him since the gallop," Appleby said regarding Nations Pride.
"He has the right profile for Epsom. He’s got five runs under his belt, having won the Jumeirah Derby and then taking the Newmarket Stakes, where William [Buick] was very pleased the way he went through the line.
"It gave us as good an indication as any that the step up to a mile and a half is going to suit him and we think he deserves to be supplemented."
