Adelaide United have secured the future of Lachlan Barr who has penned a new two-year contract extension with the club.
There has been a flurry of activity at the club this week with a host of players signing new deals and Barr is the latest to put pen-to-paper on a new contract.
The 27-year-old only arrived at the club from Adelaide City back in January of this year after boss Carl Veart drafted him in as an injury replacement.
The central defender went on to play a key role for the Reds when making 16 appearances and he has now been rewarded with a deal that will run until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Barr is delighted to have signed up for two years and is now ready to make the most of the opportunity.
“I’m so happy to be re-signing with Adelaide United,” he told the club’s website. “I’ve worked extremely hard to get to this position and I’m grateful to the Club for giving me the opportunity to work in this professional environment amongst a great group of players and under some top-class coaches.
“I’m proud that the Club has rewarded me with a new two-year contract, and I’m confident as a squad we’ll be challenging for silverware again this season.”
Veart was delighted with the contribution that Barr made and believes there is even more to come from him over the next two seasons.
“Lachlan will continue to improve by being in our environment full-time, but the hard work he has put in and the commitment he has shown to get to this level is a testament to the professionalism he possesses,” Veart added.
