Adelaide United youngster Bernardo grabbed his first A-League goal to earn his side a point in a 1-1 draw with Wellington Phoenix on Saturday.
Adelaide are priced at 6/5 to finish in the top six of the A-League this season and picked up a crucial point thanks to Bernardo who struck late on to salvage the draw.
Adelaide looked on course for defeat as they trailed 1-0 heading into stoppage time at the end of the game but Bernardo had one last card to play.
The 17-year-old managed to latch on to a cross from Josh Cavallo to head home at the far post in the 92nd minute of the Netstrata Jubilee Stadium clash.
Veart relieved at late fightback
It turned out to be an inspired double substitution from Reds boss Carl Veart who was delighted to see both players come off the bench to combine and earn a share of the points.
Bernardo is the son of Adelaide United great Cassio so the goal had extra meaning and the Reds hope it is a sign of things to come.
"We've been trying to get a little bit more end product out of Bernardo," Adelaide coach Veart said. "He's quite young and he's learning the game.
"We keep encouraging him to be positive and he got inside the back post and got the header at the end. Full credit to him that he kept going there."
Veart will have been relieved to have taken something from the game as it was Wellington who had the better chances but could only lead 1-0 after Gael Sandoval's first-half strike.
