Brisbane picked up their fifth win on the spin with a 36-12 victory over Newcastle on Thursday night and managed to do it without star playmaker Adam Reynolds.
The Broncos moved to fourth spot on the NRL ladder with the victory and are priced at 5/2 to stay there come the end of the season.
The Broncos revealed just before the game that Reynolds would miss out with a groin injury that he picked up in the Magic Round.
The playmaker has been a revelation since arriving from South Sydney and there may have been some fears among the Broncos faithful that they would struggle without him.

It was not the most polished performance of the season, but they got the job done, much to the delight of coach Kevin Walters.
"We weren't so great tonight in our first half but in the second, the boys came together and finished off well," Walters said after the game. "I'm particularly happy for the playing group, there's been some some tough years and we seem to be getting bit in front of the curve which is which is really good."
Meanwhile Walters has also confirmed the injury to Reynolds is not a serious one and he should be fit to face the Gold Coast
Titans at Suncorp Stadium next Friday.
"We believe he'll be back next week." Walters added. "Obviously if he's not ready to go, we'll rest him but I believe he will be ready to go next week."
