Brosnan, a $1.05 million buy at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, showed talent in recording a long-neck victory in a two-year-old handicap at Flemington on Saturday and will now head straight to Queensland for the JJ Atkins Stakes.
The Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou-trained colt defeated the Andrew Bobbin-trained Anphina with Lethal Thoughts a neck away in third and over two lengths back to the remainder.
Offered by Newhaven Park, Brosnan was purchased by Kitchwin Hills Stud on behalf of a syndicate led by Neil Werrett.

The colt had finished sixth and fourth in the Skyline Stakes and VRC Sires' Produce before a seventh in the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes last month.
"He jumped better than he had in the past and in a race where there wasn't a lot of speed," winning jockey Jye McNeil said.
"We found ourselves closer to the front and he was travelling comfortably. Through that and being a little bit of a class above he found the front early and had a really good stargazing look around.
"I don't believe we got to the bottom of him today."
Brosnan is the second foal out of Surround Stakes and Emancipation Stakes runner-up Supara.
