NRL: Brown focused as Warriors lose to Manly

New Zealand Warriors coach Nathan Brown says he does not fear for his job as his side continue to struggle in the NRL this season.

The Warriors started the season hoping to make the top eight of the NRL, but sit 12th on the ladder having won just four games from 13 this season.

Pressure is mounting

The pressure is starting to mount on Brown after the Warriors slumped to a 44-12 defeat against a Manly side that were missing both Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans on Saturday.

The first half in particular would have been tough to watch for the Warriors fans as the Sea Eagles romped to a 24-0 lead. And Brown says he takes full responsibility for the slow start.

"Our first half was obviously horrible. We can't hide from that," Brown admitted to reporters after the game. "I can't offer any excuses.

"As the coach the start of the game is important, and your preparation. Because you prepare your team to start well. So I have to take a hit there."

Brown stays defiant

Despite the poor ladder position Brown is not thinking about his own position and is just determined to get the Warriors back on track.

"I've been coaching a long time now, so I don't coach on fear," Brown added. "All we can do is the best we can to do what we feel is right. I have been around too long to worry about that other stuff.

"You just keep doing what you think is right. You have to stick to it."
