Quarterback Joe Burrow is "ahead of his time" according to new Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle La'el Collins, who says he can see a high ceiling for the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.
Burrow, 13/1 to add NFL Regular Season MVP to his list of awards, led the Bengals to Super Bowl LVI where they were eventually toppled by the much more experienced Los Angeles Rams at their own SoFi Stadium.
The third-year QB met the written press for the first time since the post-game interviews in Los Angeles and his businesslike approach to getting back down to work surprised no-one who saw how he operated last season.
"I treated it like any other loss. I went through that week and watched the film," Burrow said after Tuesday's voluntary workout on the Paul Brown stadium practice fields.
"Saw where I could get better. Saw the things we did well. Then I moved on. I put it behind me. We are into the 2022 season."
The Bengals addressed their most glaring issue of 2021 - the 70 sacks Burrow took in the regular season and postseason combined - by recruiting three veteran free-agent starters on the offensive line.

After nabbing former New England Patriots center/guard Ted Carras and ex-Tampa Bay Buccaneers guard Alex Cappa, Cincinnati enticed massive former Dallas Cowboys right tackle Collins to become Burrow's 'Bodyguard' - as he called himself the day he signed back in March.
"Oh man. 'He's all about ball," Collins said of Burrow, via bengals.com.
"He's focused each and every day. He's ahead of his time. He's going to be great. Just the way he sees the game, his ability to go out and diagnose certain thigs. When you're able to see that out of a young player, you know the ceiling is high for him."
