Carlton have been hit by the news Marc Pittonet is facing up to three months on the sidelines after scans confirmed he has damaged the PCL in his knee.
The Blues are priced at 4/7 to finish in the eight and play finals and the loss of Pittonet will come as a big setback for them.
Pittonet suffered the injury during the defeat against Fremantle at Optus Stadium on Saturday evening.
He clashed knees with Dockers ruckman Sean Darcy and had to leave the field. The ruckman was unable to play any further part in the game but Carlton were hoping he had suffered nothing more than a corkie.

However scans have now confirmed it is a PCL and the player is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
"The injury is obviously a significant one and will sideline Marc for an extended period of time, which is unfortunate given the amount of work he put in throughout the entire summer and we were really starting to see the results of during the early parts of the season," Carlton footy boss Brad Lloyd said.
"While Marc won’t be able to have an impact on-field for the coming months, we have no doubt the energy and positivity he brings to our football club every day he walks through the door will continue.
“For now, it’s about supporting Marc through his recovery as he approaches his rehab with a focus to be available later in the season."
