Melbourne City wrapped up back-to-back A-League premierships when defeating Wellington Phoenix on Monday night.
Patrick Kisnorbo’s men are now priced at 6/4 to go on and win the grand final. If they can achieve it they would become the first team in the history of the A-League to complete back-to-back doubles following on from their success last season.
This season’s minor premiership is even sweeter than last year considering the disruption they have had to go through to achieve it. Kisonorbo accepts it has been the same for everyone, but it is special nontheless.
They were given a fright at the death as Melbourne Victory made their way to the top of the ladder, putting the pressure on.
But City saw off Wellington 2-1 to clinch the premiers plate.

"It's been a big year excluding the finals series," Kisnorbo said. "Obviously what we've had to deal with and I'm not just saying us but a lot of clubs: back-to-back games and you get put in situations that we've never been put in before because of the situation.
"It's all credit to the players, we've had to overcome adversity and to overcome maybe some public criticism, overcome sickness, injuries, we've had to overcome a lot.
"We've had to play with nine players out, we've had internationals, we've had people with injuries, three games a week.
"To get the rewards that they've got tonight, it's a build-up of emotion just to say that we did something that we set out to do and now we need to get clear and go again."
