Wellington Phoenix coach Ufuk Talay says the confidence has returned to his side after they made it three wins on the bounce with a 1-0 victory over Melbourne Victory.
The Nix are priced at 4/1 to finish in the finals spots this season and moved to within one point of the top six thanks to the win over Tony Popovic's side.
The Nix had to ride their luck at times and had returning goalkeeper Oli Sail to thank for keeping the scores level as he pulled of a number of fine saves to deny Ben Folami, Josh Brillante and Marco Rojas.
The winning goal came in the 74th minute when Victory's Jason Davidson gave the ball away to David Ball, who made his way into the penalty area before setting up Reno Piscopo for his second goal in as many games.

Talay felt there was nothing to choose between the two sides and is delighted that the Nix managed to grab the only goal of the contest.
"I thought we played very well with the ball and defended solidly as well," Talay told reporters after the game. "I think we had close to 57 per cent possession and over 600 passes this game.
"It was an arm wrestle, two teams when (they) got behind the ball, very defensive and I thought one goal was going to win this game and I'm glad that we scored that one goal."
The Nix have finally found their straps following a slow start to the 2021/22 A-League season and Talay says confidence in the camp is high.
"The confidence has grown with the boys, while a few players coming back from national duty as well has helped the group," Talay added.
"There's been a few players coming in like (Mexican) Gael (Sandoval) and now (Englishman) Scotty (Wootton) being in amongst the group has helped, so we'll slowly get there. It's still a work in progress."
