Sydney FC coach Steve Corica has backed Trent Buhagiar to find his shooting boots after the young striker missed a couple of sitters in the win over Central Coast on Sunday.
The Sky Blues are priced at 6/1 to win the 2021/22 A-League grand final and picked up a crucial three points thanks to a 3-2 win over the Mariners.
Sydney snatched the win in a dramatic and entertaining game at Leichhardt Oval and Corica was relieved his side did not pay the price for missed opportunities.
Buhagiar was the biggest culprit when missing two glorious opportunities after being put clean through on goal in the first half.

The 23-year-old appeared to have done all the hard work when beating the last defender but pulled both shots wide of the goal.
He now has just one goal in nine games but Corica has backed him to start firing sooner rather than later.
"He's creating these chances, his pace is getting him in these situations," Corica told reporters after the game. "Once he starts scoring and we know he will, we should have been 3-0 up at half-time and he had a couple of those chances.
"He just needs to be positive in front of goal. We've got a lot of games coming and he'll play a part. I'll chat to him next week. He needs to be a bit (more) composed in front of goal. Strikers go through these periods and he needs to come out of it."
Anthony Caceres had given Sydney the lead on the stroke of half-time but the Mariners hit back with goals from Oliver Bozanic and new striker signing Jason Cummings.
Bobo leveled matters on 71 minutes before Caceres grabbed his second to win the game eight minutes later.
