Macarthur FC coach Ante Milicic says Ulises Davila is starting to find his best form again and the timing could not be better as the business end of the season approaches.
The Bulls are priced at 10/1 to win the 2021/22 A-League minor premiership and following a disappointing run of form they picked up a crucial win against Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday.
The Mexican playmaker was the star of the show with a brace during the 3-1 win at Campbelltown Stadium as the Bulls ended a run of three games without a win.
Davila has had a shaky start since since arriving from Wellington Phoenix ahead of this season but is finally fully fit and starting to settle in and show his skills.
"We're delighted to have him at our football club," Milicic told reporters after the win. "Apart from what he does on the field, there's what he does around the training ground, the way he interacts with the players, particularly younger ones.
"Now he's starting to get a lot more fitter and getting used to playing with players around him. He was superb (on Saturday)."
In a further boost to Milicic a host of other key players are making progress and are expected to return to action sooner rather than later.
One such player is Danny De Silva who could face Central Coast Mariners next week.
"One or two are making good progress there, and you need squad depth in this competition because as you can see there's a curve ball thrown at you weekly," Milicic added.
