Gold Coast Suns coach Stuart Dew says he is not feeling the pressure ahead of the 2022 AFL season despite being out of contract at the end of the campaign.
The Suns are priced at 11/2 to make the top eight of the AFL and play finals for the first time in their short history, and Dew is keen to take them there.
Expectations may be high heading into the new season and it would be fair to assume that Dew is feeling the pressure to have a big season with the Suns.
Improvement will no doubt be needed if Dew is to get a new contract but the coach says he is more excited than anything else with the season just weeks away.

Dew can also take confidence from the fact co-captain Jarrord Witts is back available after recovering from a ruptured ACL, while Matt Rowell is also fit again.
"I'm confident in what I can deliver," he told AFL.com.au "No pressure, no diamonds type of thing.
"I feel like it's going to bring the best out in me, which will be good for the footy club. I've been under pressure before both as a coach and player.
"When I went to Hawthorn, that was an interesting move obviously at the time for them, but I'll back myself to do the job I'm paid to do. It's a job that I love."
Until Dew is offered a contract and pens it there will always be outside noise but the Suns coach says he will just focus on being there for his team and getting the best out of them.
"To be honest, I'm not interested in talking about myself at this stage," he added. "What's going to dictate that is what happens out on the field, so 100 per cent of my energy is into that.
"I haven't been on the front foot talking about it either. The players need me to be at my best and that's what I can control."
