Aussie Rules: Dockers march on with crushing win

Justin Longmuir saluted his players as Fremantle moved to the top of the AFL ladder following a 78-point win over North Melbourne at Optus Stadium on Friday night.

The Dockers are aiming to go all the way and win the grand final and Longmuir was proud with the way his players handled a difficult week.

Players missing

Freo picked up an impressive win away at Geelong last week but were hit by the loss of six players heading in to the game against the Kangaroos.

However they did not let it effect them and Longmuir was pleased with the way his players handled it.

"I was really proud of the way we jumped into the game," he said. "Really good win last week, six-day break, a lot of distraction. I thought we got on the front foot, we were proactive early.

"We got the game on our terms. I was proud of our players because it showed we prepared really well and our heads were in the game.

"We picked it up early in the week that there could be some distractions and potential to lose the focus of our players to things that don't help them play well."

Kangaroos unity

Meanwhile in the opposite camp, coach David Noble is urging everyone to stick together after suffering yet another heavy defeat.

"At the end of the day it's about how much we learn from this period," he said. "It's not about the fails, the failure of where we're at, it's about what we learn.

"It's about how we address that going forward to keep the players bubbling along."
