The Dolphins have confirmed their interest in Herbie Farnworth but the Broncos say they will fight hard to keep hold of the Englishman.
The Broncos are priced at 3/1 to finish in the top four of the NRL this season and Farnworth will be key to their chances as he continues to go from strength to strength.
The 22-year-old centre has been a revelation for the Broncos this season but he is off-contract at the end of the season and the Dolphins want him for their inaugural NRL campaign in 2023.
Coach Wayne Bennett has declared his interest in the player and is now waiting for a decision. And so are the Broncos.

"We've spoken to him, after that just have to wait 'til they tell you what they're doing," Bennett told reporters. "Deadlines are a waste of time, they never work. If you want the player bad enough you've just got to wait sometimes."
Meanwhile Broncos counterpart Kevin Walters says they are also working hard to keep hold of Farnworth and they expect him to still be on board with the Broncos next season.
"The Broncos are going pretty hard for him too," Walters said. "He played his 50th game for us last week, we expect to see him running out in Broncos colours next year that's for sure.
"There's a lot (for him) to consider; Herbie's pretty popular among other clubs but he's no more popular there than what he is here. I feel he belongs here, cut his teeth here and I'd love to see him stay on."
