Aaron Dunn is being made to wait but is hopeful that Bondi Lockdown has done enough to earn a spot in the $1million Group 1 Miracle Mile at Tabcorp Park Menangle.
Bondi Lockdown ran a good race to finish second to Better Eclipse in last Saturday's Chariots of Fire, while he also took out the 4YO Bonanza the week before.
Dunn believes that will be enough to earn Bondi Lockdown his place and has ruled out the option of racing in this weekend's final qualifiers for the Miracle Mile.
It does represent something of a gamble but Dunn is standing by his decision and keeping his fingers crossed that his charge makes the select eight.

"I pretty much came off the track (Saturday night) and said that’s it, he’s not going around next week," Dunn told SENTrack’s Trots Life today. "They rang me Sunday to say don’t go home, but couldn’t really give a guarantee that he would be given a run till after the heats next week."
Better Eclipse is guaranteed a place in the Miracle Mile following the Chariots of Fire win and trainer Jess Tubbs says the victory was a career highlight.
"He does seem to enjoy the racing up here and he’s feeling good at the moment, so we’ll be crossing our fingers at the (Miracle Mile) barrier draw and hoping there’s some luck there for starters," Tubbs said.
"As much as it’s a big ask for him, he can obviously run the time when the race is run to suit for him. If it panned out again, dare to dream I guess."
