Gold Coast forward David Fifita says he is feeling fitter than ever heading towards the new NRL campaign and is determined to cement his place in the side following an injury-hit 2021.
The Titans are priced at 17/1 to win the 2022 NRL grand final and having star forward Fifita fit and firing will be key to their chances of having a good season.
Fifita made the switch from the Brisbane Broncos to the Titans last year after penning a big contract but he failed to live up to expectations as injuries took their toll.
He showed glimpses of his brilliant best but was carrying a rib injury and had to settle for the bench in the last eight matches of the campaign.

The 21-year-old says he is now desperate to start the season in coach Justin Holbrook's side and is feeling fitter and stronger than before
"This is probably my first time being injury-free leading up to a pre-season," he said. "I've got a full pre-season in. I came back in a bit overweight but now I'm good, I'm in good nick.
"You go up in weight and muscle but I'm happy where I'm at with my fitness."
Despite struggling at times last season Fifita still had a big impact and finished the season as the Titans' leading try-scorer with 17 in 22 games.
So on the whole he was happy and is now looking to kick on after settling into his new surroundings.
"It was good for myself from where I started off with (an ankle) injury in the pre-season, slow in the rehab and that," Fifita added.
"I got to have my first season, I've got to know all the boys and staff now. I'm really comfortable with the place."
