Sydney Swans have confirmed Lance Franklin will undergo an operation on his fractured finger and could be on the sidelines for up to three weeks.
The Swans are priced at 13/4 to reach the 2022 AFL grand final and a fit and firing Franklin will be key to their chances of going all the way in this campaign.
Franklin damaged his finger during the 11-point win against North Melbourne at the weekend and the club have now revealed an operation will be needed.
The Swans cannot give an exact time-frame on his return just yet but coach John Longmire does not expect it to be more than three weeks.

"At this stage, we expect him to have a minor operation on his finger and be out for a couple of weeks. He is going to see a specialist this afternoon," Longmire told reporters on Monday.
"We expect him to be out for a couple, maybe three worst-case scenario. We will know more this afternoon, but we expect it to be around that 2-3 week mark."
Meanwhile Longmire has also confirmed that forward Tom Papley is making good progress from a hamstring injury but is not ready to return just yet.
"There hasn’t been any setbacks,” Longmire added. It's just being conservative in terms of being back to full speed running.
We haven’t got to maximum speed which we hope to do this week and next week. He is clearly a critical player for us and we hope to get him back, but it certainly won't be this week."
