Fremantle coach Just Longmuir says it is important his side stay grounded following a surprise win over the reigning premiers Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday night.
The Dockers have got the season off to a great start but they took their game to the next level when beating the Demons by 38 points.
The win was even more incredible considering they trailed Melbourne by 30 points at one point. But they came back with a roaring performance in the second half to take the win that lifts them to third spot on the AFL ladder.
Melbourne had also won 17 games on the bounce heading into the game. Freo had lost their last two. But just like he refused to push the panic button after losing, Longmuir is not getting carried away with the win.
"I said it last week, you get ahead of yourself in this game and you get what you deserve. We understand Melbourne were missing a couple tonight, they got some injuries early which were disruptive to them and we played our best footy but we'll review it like we reviewed the last couple of weeks," Longmuir told reporters
"Internally we'll stick to the process and we understand there's another big challenge next week. We want to make sure internally at our footy club we're as consistent as we can be and it's a long season if you ride the ups and downs. We'll enjoy this win but [it's] not getting past this week."
