Football: Friday's European preview

Hoffenheim have an opportunity to move level with the Bundesliga leaders by winning Friday's home clash with Werder Bremen.

Meanwhile, there's also one game taking place in both La Liga and Ligue 1, as well as matches in Turkey, Portugal and the Netherlands, with the action from Germany, France and Spain all available as part of our European Soccer Live Streaming Highlights.

Hoffenheim 10/11, Draw 3/1, Werder Bremen 5/2

Hoffenheim can join surprise early leaders Union Berlin and Freiburg on 17 points at the top of the Bundesliga with a victory over eighth-placed Werder on Friday evening.

TSG, who are fifth, have won four of their eight matches so far and will want to return to winning ways on Friday after drawing their last two matches with Freiburg and Hertha Berlin.

There is big incentive for Andre Breitenreiter's side to see off Werder, who are only three places and two points behind them in the table, as Hoffenheim will go above Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund with a win that would showcase their top-four credentials in the process.

It's unlikely to be straightforward, though, as Werder ended their two-game winless streak last time by hammering Borussia Monchengladbach 5-1 at home in their most recent outing.

Lyon 4/9, Draw 15/4, Toulouse 5/1

Lyon entertain Toulouse hoping to put a run of four straight defeats behind them with a victory that would move them up a place to sixth in Ligue 1.

After starting the campaign in eye-catching fashion with four wins and a draw in their first five games, it's all gone horribly wrong for OL of late, who were being talked about as serious contenders for a top-four finish in France this season.

However, they will fancy their chances of ending their dismal form on Friday against a Toulouse side on who are down in 12th place and who have only won two of their last seven, although one of those victories did come last time out when they saw off Montpellier 4-2.

Osasuna 5/4, Draw 9/4, Valencia 9/4

Osasuna pulled off a 1-1 draw against European champions Real Madrid last weekend to become the first side in La Liga this term to stop Los Blancos winning.

That point will surely give them plenty of confidence to now see off Valencia at home, a result which would move Jagoba Arrasate's side up to fourth in the table and only three points adrift of joint leaders Real and Barcelona.

Osasuna have overall only won two of their last five in La Liga and Valencia will hope to repeat what Getafe managed in Los Rojillos most recent home game when they came from El Sadar with a 2-0 victory.

Los Che, who are ninth, three points and three places behind Friday's opponents, have had a mixed run of late, winning one, drawing one and losing the other of their last three matches and they are outsiders to claim victory on the road.

Action in Turkey, Netherlands and Portugal too

Elsewhere across Europe on Friday evening, there are top-flight matches scheduled in the Netherlands, Portugal and Turkey ahead of the rest of the weekend's fixtures.

In the Eredivisie, 12th-placed FC Groningen host RKC Waalwijk, who are in ninth place and who are 11/5 shots for victory, with the draw 12/5.

In Portugal it's 12th versus eighth as Gil Vicente host Estoril, with the home side 1/1 to claim all three points and 11/4 to do so by a one-goal margin.

The one clash in Turkey's Super Lig sees second-place Adana Demirspor go to Gaziantep FK, who are down in 10th.
