Generation will have a jump-out wearing blinkers as co-trainer Ciaron Maher aims to eke out an extra "half-a-length" in the build-up to Saturday's Group 1 Doomben 10,000.
The son of Snitzel ran well in his first try at elite level, finishing fourth in the William Reid Stakes, and Maher hopes the blinkers can help make the difference in this weekend's feature, for which he is a 10/1 chance.
"I'm going to try them on him," Maher, who co-trains in partnership with David Eustace, said. "He's still a young horse, he's only three, and sometimes you can just find that little bit of focus. I'm not sold on whether I'm going to do it [on race day] yet, but I'll take a look Tuesday."

The William Reid, in which Generation was beaten by just over two lengths, was the first time the colt missed a place in his eight-start career, which includes wins in the Group 3 Red Anchor Stakes last spring and Group 3 Manfred Stakes at his first start this campaign.
"He's been very good, he's got a great record, but I just need half a length," Maher added.
"He's always shown plenty of talent, right from day one. All the riders that get on him say he's a Group 1 horse, trackwork even, so it's just about finding his little niche."
