Paul George and Norman Powell played together for the Los Angeles Clippers for the first time on Wednesday in a 113-109 victory over a shorthanded Phoenix Suns outfit.
The Clippers can be backed at 30/1 to win the NBA Championship outright, while Western Conference top seeds Phoenix are 3/1 to go one better after finishing as the runners-up last year.
Powell joined the Clippers from Portland Trail Blazers in February at a time when George was sidelined with an elbow injury.
The 28-year-old guard managed just three games for the LA outfit before being struck down with a bone fracture in his left foot.
Powell made a return against the Suns, who were without key pair Devin Booker and Chris Paul, on Wednesday and weighed in with a game-high 24 points in 22 minutes.
George, who has 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists, was impressed with Powell's contribution and he feels they can form a strong partnership in the weeks ahead.
"He's a big time playmaker and scorer... at that point it was just let him play and let me play off him," said George, via The Fresno Bee. "I thought we just tried to play off one another. The biggest thing was I wanted to play off the ball, and let Norm get comfortable."

The Clippers will have to come through the play-in tournament if they are to reach the playoffs but coach Tyronn Lue feels his team can be a threat in the postseason.
Star man Kawhi Leonard could potentially return after the play-in tournament, and if the Clippers are able to claim either the seventh or eighth seed they may well be contenders for the top prize - providing George, Powell and Leonard are all involved.
"If he [Powell] can be like this, we gonna be dangerous. We gonna be dangerous come play-in and playoffs," said Lue.
