Greater Western Sydney have been hit by the news Brent Daniels will miss the first part of the 2022 AFL campaign after fracturing his foot in pre-season.
The Giants are priced at 15/1 to win the 2022 AFL grand final but coach Leon Cameron already has a number of selection headaches and the season hasn't even started.
Daniels suffered the fracture in training on Monday and the club have confirmed he will need to undergo surgery to fix the issue.
GWS have yet to put an exact timeline on his return but early reports claim it could be round 10 at the earliest before the small forward is able to return to the side.

The news comes as another setback for the Giants as gun small forward Toby Greane is already set to miss the first five games of the season through suspension.
Cameron has said Greene is impossible to replace and losing Daniels for a lengthy spell will now make things even harder for him.
Giants' head of medical services James Rahme has expressed the club's disappointment at losing Daniels who had been catching the eye in training.
"This is a disappointing injury for Brent who was having a great pre-season," he said when reacting to the news. "Brent will have surgery this week before we determine a timeline for his return.
"We expect him to be sidelined until approximately round 10. It’s a tricky injury so we’ll take our time to make sure he’s fully fit to return in the first half of the season."
