The Indianapolis Colts added another Pro Bowler to their already stacked defence when they agreed a two-year deal with cornerback Stephon Gilmore on Friday.
The Colts, who are 5/8 to make the playoffs, missed out on the postseason following a Week 18 upset at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars last January.
Since then, the franchise can hardly be accused of standing still as they shipped out quarterback Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders and landed veteran signal-caller Matt Ryan for the price of a third-round selection when the Atlanta Falcons entered a rebuilding phase.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard has done most of his offseason work by addressing the defensive side of the ball, trading corner Rock Ya-Sin to the Las Vegas Raiders for dynamic edge rusher Yannick Ngakoue and signing corner Brandon Facyson, safeties Rodney McLeod and Armani Watts, and linebacker Brandon King in free agency.
Gilmore, the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year, can be a great capture if he stays healthy and you can follow his progress on our Sports Live Streaming hub.
The former Buffalo Bills man became a cornerstone of the Patriots defence after catching on in New England in 2017, but injury and a contract dispute led to him parting ways when Bill Belichick traded him to the Carolina Panthers in 2021.
Gilmore visited Indianapolis on Wednesday and both NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport reported on Friday the Colts were signing him to a two-year contract, per sources informed of the situation.
The deal is worth around $23 million, according to Pelissero, and bolsters a Colts defence that already features defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, linebacker Darius Leonard, Ngakoue, linebacker Bobby Okereke, and second-year edge rushers Kwity Paye and Dayo Odeyingbo.
