Harness Racing: Goodtime Heaven makes return

Goodtime Heaven will make her return to action in the Group 3 Allied Express Blossom Lady on Saturday night and connections hope to use the race as a stepping stone to the Queensland Constellations Carnival.

The seven-year-old, who is trained by Courtney Slater has only raced once in the last 18 months after suffering from one or two issues, but is now back to fitness.

Healthy and ready

Slater has confirmed there were no serious health issues and her charge is now ready to race once again.

“She is healthy and sound, there has just been a couple of unlucky incidents that have prevented her from racing,” Slater said.

Goodtime Heaven will jump from the second row and reinsman Nathan Jack will be in the sulky for the first time. However
Slater has no concerns on that front either.

“Nathan got the feel of her at the trials last week when she ran second to Vintage Cheddar,” she added.

Carnival in sights

Slater will see how her charge performs on Saturday night but she already has one eye on future races.

The riches of the Queensland Carnival await and Slater expects Goodtime Heaven to get up to speed pretty quickly.

“We are very happy with her and she will use this race as a stepping stone to a possible trip to the Queensland carnival,” she said.

“She always improves with racing, so she should only get better after Saturday night.”
