Anthony Griffin will stay as coach of St George Illawarra until at least the end of 2023 after the Dragons exercised an option to extend his contract by a year.
The Dragons are priced at 50/1 to win the 2022 NRL grand final and club officials feel they are making great progress under the leadership of Griffin.
Griffin was under contract for the 2022 season but the powers that be have been happy with his leadership and are delighted to keep him on board.
The 55-year-old is also happy to commit and is looking forward to taking the Red V up the ladder over the next couple of seasons.

"We are heading in the right direction, and myself and all the great people at the club are determined to play our roles in bringing future success to the Dragons," Griffin revealed after the deal was announced.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far and I'm excited by what's to come this season and beyond."
Griffin has managed to lure George Burgess, Moses Mbye, Moses Suli, Jaydn Su'A and Aaron Woods to the club while Corey Norman, Cameron McInnes and Matt Dufty have all extended their contracts.
"The club has undertaken a lot of change in the last 18 months and Anthony has played a positive role both on and off the field," said club chief executive Ryan Webb.
"The board and I feel Anthony is the right man to continue setting the required standards to return the Dragons to where they belong."
