NRL: Griffin hails Ramsey after Dragons win

Dragons coach Anthony Griffin saluted the performance of Cody Ramsey after he starred at fullback in the 24-18 win over the Warriors on Saturday.

The Dragons are out to make the top eight and play finals and they jumped to 10th spot on the NRL ladder courtesy of the win.

Ramsey stars

Griffin has been struggling to stick with a fullback in the early rounds of the season. Both Tyrell Sloan and Moses Mbye have been competing for the No.1 jersey.

But it is now Ramsey’s to lose after he put in an impressive display against the Warriors at a rain-soaked Jubilee Oval on Saturday.

"He is still very raw but he had that energy today to pick us up in attack, particularly in the second half with that line break coming out of our own end," Griffin said. "I thought he did a really good job under the high ball, Cody had a great game and that's what we need him to do."

Warriors woes continue

For the Warriors they have now won just one game in their last five and face a huge game against Newcastle next week. But on this occasion coach Nathan Brown did not feel there was much between the two sides.

"It was four tries apiece and I'm not sure they were any better than us," Brown told reporters. "We still have those moments where we do a lot of good things. I reckon our ruck was the best it's been all year today but some players made some bad choices and gifted them too many easy tries."
