Ken Hinkley says Port Adelaide have set themselves up for the second half of the AFL season after picking up a crucial win against Essendon on Sunday.
The Power are priced at 2/1 to finish in the top eight of the AFL and have given themselves a chance after recovering from a shocking start that saw them lose their opening five games.
Port Adelaide are now 5-6 for the season, which looks a lot better than 4-7 had they lost to the Bombers. They now head into the round 12 bye with Hinkley feeling a lot better regards their prospects for the rest of the season.
They sit in 11th spot on the ladder just four points behind the top eight and within touching distance of finals.

"The four points were really important for us, obviously to get to this stage after our start. I'm pretty proud of the way we've been able to get back into the competition," Hinkley said post-match.
"We're certainly not sold on the competition yet, but we're strong into it now; at least we give ourselves a chance now for the second part of the season. I'm just pleased to get the four points, I reckon."
If they are to make further progress then Hinkley says they need to put four quarters of good footy together on a consistent basis.
"I think if I use the term consistency of what we do; even tonight, we showed when we're good we were good, but when we fell away,” he added. "We need to be able to play four quarters consistently well, and that's where we're still building."
