The Gold Coast Suns have been handed a big boost on the injury front with the news Jack Lukosius has avoided a serious knee injury.
The Suns are priced at 5/1 to make the eight and play finals football in the 2022 AFL campaign and will be relieved to hear the injury to Lukosius is not a serious one.
The Gold Coast were left fearing the worst when the former No.2 draft pick was forced to leave the field with a knee injury against Carlton.
It certainly took the shine off the 30-point win over the Blues but thankfully scans have since revealed he has suffered no serious damage.
Lukosius will miss this weekend’s clash against St Kilda but the club have revealed he should not be on the sidelines for long.
"Jack endured an injury to his PCL, but the stability of his knee hasn’t been significantly compromised," Gold Coast physiotherapist Lindsay Bull said.
"He won’t be available for selection this week, but we’ll reassess how is recovery tracks early next week before determining if he will be available for round six."
Meanwhile the Suns have also been boosted by the news Jy Farrar looks to have avoided a serious hamstring injury.
Farrar also picked up the injury against Carlton but again scans have shown it is nothing serious. He will look to train later in the week and is in with a chance of facing St Kilda.
