Connections will aim Seventhreeohseven at the Granny Smith after the four-year-old mare finally broke her maiden at Launceston on Sunday night.
Seventhreeohseven picked up her first win at the 13th attempt when racing clear at the 600m mark to win by 3.3m in the Pacing For Pink 8th May Stakes.
Trained by Brett Jaffray, Seventhreeohseven went off as the hot fancy and did not disappoint when edging out Buster Byron. Royal Reactor was someway back in third place, with Codys Legacy finishing in fourth place.
Jaffray says a well-earned rest is now on the cards for his charge before she is aimed at the Granny Smith.

“She can have a bit of time off now,” Jaffray told reporters after the race. “She is eligible for the Granny Smith and as she is improving all the time, we will give her an opportunity at that as she missed out on the two and three-year-old legs as she was in the paddock as she wasn’t good enough and immature.”
Jaffray is also delighted with how his charge is racing as she is much more consistent since returning to the track.
“We turned her out for 12 months and I took her back to Michael Lefevre’s at Pyengana up in the cattle country, and she has been very consistent this time in,” he added. “She is no world beater but she tries, and that is the best thing about her,”
Jaffray races the horse in partnership with his son Scott, Josh Marshall, Pat Bramich and Lyndon Smith and says it is a special night for all of them.
“It’s their first win and they have now got a photo for the wall, and some had their little kids here, which was good,” he said.
