Forward Patrik Laine said he takes satisfaction in his recent hot streak because he is helping the Columbus Blue Jackets win games.
The Blue Jackets, 275/1 to win the Stanley Cup in 2021/22, had a hat-trick from Laine to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 7-4 on Thursday taking his points-streak to eight games.
In the run, 23-year-old Laine has recorded 16 points (10 goals, six assists), including four multi-goal and six multi-point games to take his season tally to 31 points (16 goals, 15 assists) in 29 games. Since 27th January, Laine's 10 goals are the most in the NHL.
The winger, is in a second season with the Blue Jackets who traded for him from the Winnipeg Jets in January 2021 in exchange for Pierre Luc-Dubois.
Laine, who was selected second after Dubois in the 2016 NHL draft, scored 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) in 45 games for the Blue Jackets last season and vowed in the off-season to improve his offensive production.

In his debut season, Laine averaged 1.8 shots on goal per-game but this year has improved that figure to 2.72 and he is reaping the benefits.
Over 380 regular-season games in the NHL, the Finn has scored 302 points (166 goals, 136 assists).
The Blue Jackets currently sit fifth in the Metropolitan Division with a 24-23-1 record.
Laine said to the media: "I think I'm shooting it more. When you see a couple go in, you're a little more relaxed. If I didn't have this streak going but the team's winning, that's all that really matters. At the same time, it's nice to help out the guys and get some big points."
