The final week of the LEC Summer Split is up and running and three more teams have secured their spots in the playoffs after the first day of action.
Going into week eight, MAD Lions were the only side guaranteed a place in the playoffs but they will now also be joined by G2 Esports, Misfits Gaming and Rogue, who are all tied on 10-6 win-loss records.
The first day of week eight also featured another defeat for basement boys Team BDS, who have lost 14 of their 16 matches and are still the only side who cannot mathematically qualify for the playoffs.
Day two of the week could be crucial with five teams battling for the remaining two playoff berths, which are currently occupied by Team Vitality and Fnatic.

Odds: MAD Lions (-275), Astralis (200) |
For Astralis, week eight of the LEC Summer 2022 began with a gut-punching defeat to Fnatic, meaning they could be largely reliant on the results of other teams in their pursuit of the playoffs.
They have been punching above their weight to be so heavily involved in the playoff picture anyway and their over-reliance on ADC Kasper "Kobbe" Kobberup is a touch concerning.
Ultimately, they seem to be a cut below Saturday's opponents MAD Lions, who were the first team in this split to qualify for the playoffs.
They have lost each of their last three matches but they were against strong Rogue, Misfits and G2 Esports sides and they are worth backing at -275 to get back to winning ways against the plucky Danes.
What: | Team Vitality v Fnatic, LEC Summer 2022 |
Where: | Germany (offline) |
When: | 19.00pm, Saturday 13th August 2022 |
How to watch: | LEC Youtube / Twitch channels / bet365 Sports Live Streaming |
Odds: | Team Vitality (-137), Fnatic (100) |
Fnatic have never failed to make the playoffs of an LEC split, having won seven in their history, but they are not yet over the line in the LEC Summer 2022 and could have a tough time of it against Team Vitality.
The incentive is also there for Vitality, who have a respectable 9-7 win-loss record but have not yet qualified for the playoffs, having lost their opener to SK Gaming.
Fnatic picked up a crucial win over Astralis last time out but have also lacked consistency in this split and neither side warrant backing at the prices.
Instead, punters should anticipate a tight game and a high kill count. Vitality's recent matches have featured kill totals of 29, 40, 23 and 25 and over 24.5 kills could be the bet in this one at -125.
High kill count expected in clash between big guns
What: | Misfits Gaming v G2 Esports, LEC Summer 2022 |
Where: | Germany (offline) |
When: | 19.00pm, Saturday 13th August 2022 |
How to watch: | LEC Youtube / Twitch channels / bet365 Sports Live Streaming |
Odds: | Misfits Gaming (120), G2 Esports (-162) |
The final match on Saturday is a mouth-watering contest between two sides who are hitting form at exactly the right time.
Misfits Gaming were expected to defeat Team BDS in their opening match of the final week but that victory also made it five wins on the spin and they are looking like a dangerous outfit heading into the playoffs.
The same can be said for G2 Esports, who also have a 10-6 record and will be in this year's playoffs, and they can draw confidence from their triumph at the LEC Spring playoffs earlier in 2022, when they defeated Rogue 3-0 in the final.
There is no doubting these are two of the best teams in LEC right now and they are tough to separate, so a bet on over 27.5 kills at -110 could be the way to go.
That might seem like a high line for the kill total but in their most recent encounter with fellow highflyers MAD Lions, G2 saw 32 kills in the game, while the match with Fnatic beforehand produced a total of 33.
This will be a similar, high-intensity match-up and punters should expect another high kill count as the LEC Summer playoffs edge closer.
