Majestuoso came out on top in a photo finish to take out the Group 1 TAB Australian Trotting Grand Prix and claim the overall win the Aurora Australis series.
Following eight races over two months the series came right down to the wire at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night and the Andy Gath-trained star was up to the job.
Majestuoso lead Im Ready Jet by two points heading into the final race of the series and it came down to a battle for the line between the star duo, with Gath's charge just getting up by a head.
Kate Gath was in the sulky and produced a master drive after being forced to spend much of the race in the death seat.

Im Ready Jet was also hampered after being held up behind the leader and stablemate Always Ready as they approached the turn.
Gath and Majestuoso made their move 350metres from home and managed to hold off the fast-finishing Im Ready Jet to win at the line.
Andy Gath believes Majestuoso has improved a lot over the last year and that proved to be crucial when fighting out the win on Saturday night.
"Probably 12 months ago he definitely would have got beaten. There’s a couple of races he probably should have won and he didn’t," Gath said of his charge. "He’s got mentally stronger and sort of wants to get the job done now.
"Even though he’s a little fella, he’s really developed in the body. He’s a little tank really. His legs have never grown since I’ve had him, but the rest of him has grown.
"He’s come such a long way and he’s nearly the perfect racehorse now."
