Majestuoso returned to Group 1-winning ways at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday and took top spot on the Aurora Australis leaderboard in the process.
Majestuoso produced an impressive mile rate of 1:57.8 over the 2240m trip to take out the Aldebaran Park The Knight Pistol and notch the fifth Group 1 win of his career.
With Kate Gath in the sulky Majestuoso found the lead at the mid-point of the race and then held off a late charge from Temporale to win by just over a metre.
The win came just eight days after Majestuoso claimed the Great Southern Star and Gath was delighted with the way her charge backed up at Melton.

The win means that Majestuoso is now two points clear of Im Ready Jet in the Aurora Australis standings with just one leg of the inaugural series remaining.
Gath was delighted with the win and now hopes that Majestuoso can see the job out.
"We'll run him in a couple of weeks and he can have a little spell," Gath told reporters after the win. "It's a $50,000 bonus and money means a lot to (owner) Norm (Jenkin)… hi Norm if you're watching.
"Obviously, the horse comes first and that's how we roll, but because he came through (the Great Southern Star) so well we thought we would go in this week. It worked out well. He is leading the points now so fingers crossed he can hold on, but time will tell."
