Warren Moon says his Brisbane Roar side continue to shoot themselves in the foot after slipping to a 2-1 defeat against the Newcastle Jets.
Roar are priced at 4/1 to finish in the top six of the A-League this season but they are struggling to string results together and that is hurting them.
Roar went into the game on the back of a morale-boosting 3-0 win over Western Sydney Wanderers but not for the first time this season they could not build on the victory.
They fought their way back into the game on Thursday night when Juan Lescano fired home in the 64th minute to level matters, only to concede again six minutes later.

Angus Thurgate fired home the winner with a stunning strike but Roar were on top at that point and Moon was frustrated to say the least.
And unless things change he admits his side will continue to struggle for the rest of the 2021/22 A-League campaign.
"I think maybe apart from one game, we've played some good football and been in every game, but where we're getting smashed right now is in the key moments of matches," Moon told reporters after the game.
"We were on top at 1-1 in that game and really should have gone on to win but find a way to lose it. We'll be bitterly disappointed as a group about how we defended that set-piece and then had two or three chances to clear it, but failed to do so and then it's difficult for us in the last 20.
"That's been the story of our season in many parts of the matches, so until we can improve that we're going struggle to find this consistency.
"We think we are a good side, but right now we're not showing it over 90 minutes."
