Brisbane Roar coach Warren Moon says the Newcastle Jets are a better side than their league position suggests as the two teams prepare to go head-to-head on Thursday.
Brisbane are targeting the top six of the A-League this season, but just like the Jets, they have plenty of work to do to get there.
The Jets look a completely different team under new coach Arthur Papas and have earned plenty of praise for their attacking style of football.
However it has earned just one win from six games and they head into the game against Roar on the back of a 2-1 loss against Adelaide when they were winning with just two minutes to go.

But Moon believes the Jets are in a false position and expects them to climb the ladder as the season progresses.
"They're an excellent team," Moon told AAP ahead of the game. "We've looked at them closely knowing this game was coming up and yeah, they're a really good side.
"They say the table never lies but I think with Newcastle, they're a good side, you're going to see them up the table, hopefully not on Thursday, but they're a vastly improved side from last year."
Roar have had a tough start to the season themselves but did beat Western Sydney Wanderers 3-0 at the weekend and will welcome back Nick Olsen and Alex Parsons to the side that faces Newcastle.
Nikola Mileusnic is also in great form after scoring four goals in his last four games and Moon is delighted with his new signing.
"He's a key player for us. That's why we brought him in," Moon added. "We knew he offered something completely different with that threat in behind, directness, work rate and we knew he could contribute with goals.
"Now if you ask Nikola he'd probably liked to have scored more than he has but he's scored four in the last four games and I think his contributions have been invaluable."
