Brent Naden has been granted a release from his contract with the Canterbury Bulldogs to enable him to join Wests Tigers following the departure of coach Trent Barrett.
The Tigers are priced at 18/1 to make the NRL top eight this season and now have Naden on board to help guide them into finals.
Naden requested the move after his good friend Barrett resigned as coach on Monday and the Bulldogs were happy to let him move on.
Bulldogs CEO Aaron Warburton said: "Brent requested a release to join the Tigers and we have agreed to that. We thank Brent for his efforts while here at the Bulldogs and wish him all the best.”

The Tigers are delighted to get the centre on board and are in no doubt he will add quality, experience and strength-in-depth to their backline.
He has penned a deal until the end of the 2023 season and could make his debut against the Bulldogs on Friday night.
“Brent is a quality player and will be a welcome addition to the group of players we already have at the club," Tigers coach Michael Maguire said. "It’s exciting for Brent and for our playing group.”
Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe added: "It's great to have Brent on board. I would like to welcome him to the club and I'm sure he'll bring some added experience to our backline."
