NBA - US Sports: Nash calls for Nets perspective

Brooklyn Nets coach Steve Nash says his team have to focus solely on Monday's Game 4 meeting with Boston Celtics if they are to stand any chance of avoiding a series sweep.

Boston hold a 3-0 lead and they are 20/21 to clinch the series with a win in the Money Line on Monday, while Brooklyn can be backed at 20/23.

Nash accepts his team appear on the verge of an early exit, but he remains confident they can claw their way back into contention with a Game 4 win.

Nets need to win four in a row

Brooklyn need to win four games in a row if they are to reach the second round, but Nash says his players have to focus on each game rather than the bigger picture.

The Celtics may have won all three games but their biggest margin of victory so far has been seven points and as such Nash feels the Nets can still make the series competitive.

"I think you have to have perspective always in life," said Nash, via the New York Post. "It looks ominous, 0-3. So you have to always remind yourselves that you can't play three games in one.

"You play one, try to win the game. And try to find that belief and perspective that it is one game, we'll play a good game and let the chips fall."

Nash praises evolving Celtics

He added: "They're playing their best basketball and have really evolved under (coach) Ime (Udoka) and we're in a different position.

"We have to embrace it and we have to enjoy it and we have to take a swing at the game Monday night with the best spirit and attitude that we can muster."

It was thought the Nets would be able to hand Ben Simmons a debut in Game 4, however the guard has now been officially ruled out of Monday's meeting.
