Aussie Rules: Neale hungry for Lions success

Brisbane Lions ace Lachie Neale says he is hungrier than ever and believes that 2022 has the potential to be his strongest campaign yet.

The Lions are priced at 5/2 to reach the AFL grand final this season and Neale being at his best would give their chances a big boost.

Big milestone

Two years ago Neale won the Brownlow Medal but he believes that 2022 could be even better as he is feeling fitter and stronger than ever before.

Neale will making his 200th AFL appearance when the Lions take on Collingwood on Thursday night and he could not be much happier with his game.

"I feel body-wise, fitness levels, performance-wise, I can definitely have my best year this year," he told reporters ahead of the game.

"It's still early but I've set myself up to have one of my better years. Talk's pretty cheap at this point in time, I've got to go out and deliver.

"I feel like I've had a good start and the team's had a good start, which helps. I'm loving my footy more than ever. I feel a bit rejuvenated and I'm as hungry as I've ever been."

Committed to the cause

Meanwhile, following talk linking him with a return to Fremantle, Neale says he is also keen to prove he is still committed to the Lions.

"I wanted to prove to our club and my teammates I was as committed as ever and wanted to have a really strong off-season and get ready for a really big impact this year,” he added.
