NBA - US Sports: Nets face key Charlotte test

Brooklyn Nets face a tough trip to key Eastern Conference rivals Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday in one of six games in the NBA.

The Nets are 5/8 to win in the Money Line and Charlotte can be backed at 7/5.

Nets tipped as challengers

Brooklyn were expected to mount a serious challenge for the championship this season but they find themselves clinging on to a top 10 spot in the East with just 17 regular season games remaining.

The Nets have lost their last four games and have 17 defeats in their last 20, and a place in the top six now looks unlikely as they sit ninth in the conference and are five-and-a-half games behind Cleveland Cavaliers in the final automatic playoff spot.

Brooklyn will almost certainly have to come through the play-in tournament if they are to reach the postseason and they are only two games clear of Washington Wizards - who have played two games less - in 11th ahead of their trip to the Hornets.

Charlotte have an identical 32-33 overall record but they are the form team going into this crucial meeting in the East as they have won their last two games.

The Cavs are also in action as they travel to Indiana Pacers and Cleveland have a few injury concerns that are threatening to derail their impressive season.
