The Dolphins recruitment drive is gathering pace with the capture of South Sydney forward Mark Nicholls for the start of the 2023 campaign.
Souths are priced at 15/2 to win the 2022 NRL grand final and Nicholls will have one last season with the Rabbitohs before joining former coach Wayne Bennett in Redcliffe.
Nicholls had an outstanding 2021 campaign under the leadership of Bennett who guided Souths to the grand final before losing to Penrith.
Bennett has done some sweet talking and convinced the 32-year-old prop to join him at the Dolphins who will become the NRL's 17th club in 2023.

Nicholls will follow Melbourne veteran Jesse Bromwich to the club after he was announced over the weekend and the Dolphins are happy with the progress they are making.
"Mark is a hard-working, no-nonsense type of forward that will fit straight into the Dolphins squad," CEO Terry Reader said.
"He has had some real big-match experience with the Rabbitohs in the last few years, including playing in three straight preliminary finals as well as the most recent NRL grand final.
"We see him as someone who will not only add depth and experience to our squad, but a presence who will set an example for younger players on the value of hard work and persistence in the NRL."
Meanwhile the Rabbitohs have thanked Nicholls for making his feelings known early to allow them to plan for the future and they are confident he will be as committed as ever during 2022.
"Mark has, and will continue to, give great service to this club and we look forward to supporting him and the team, alongside our members, throughout the 2022 season," Bunnies CEO Blake Solly added.
