Matt LaFleur admits the Green Bay Packers "definitely need to get some speed" at wide receiver following the exits of Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
The Kansas City Chiefs, who are 9/1 to win Super Bowl LVII, snapped up the speedy Valdes-Scantling in free agency to replace Miami-bound Tyreek Hill, leaving the 11/1 Packers with a much-reduced receiving corps.
The earlier trade of Adams to Las Vegas, which head coach LaFleur said had been "driven by Davante" did at least arm Green Bay with enough draft capital to recruit fresh talent.
Another veteran option could emerge via a trade with speculation still centering on Seattle Seahawks wideout DK Metcalf amid much upheaval at the NFC West franchise.
LaFleur is aware that the Packers need to add speed to the receiver room if they are to stay ahead of their rivals.
"Certainly, if you look at our roster right now, we definitely need to get some speed in that room," LaFleur said on Tuesday at the NFL's Annual League Meeting in Palm Beach, Florida.

The Packers have two first-round picks and two second-round picks in next month's draft, which analysts believe is stacked with wide receiving talent.
"We need a legit guy that can take off the top of the coverage."
"We lost a guy that was pretty good at doing that," he added, referring to Valdes-Scantling, per ESPN.
