Wellington Phoenix have confirmed Reno Piscopo will be leaving the club to join an A-League rival, but the identity of the club is under wraps for now.
The Nix have started to clear the decks for next season with seven players leaving the club on Monday, to add to the retirement of Louis Fenton last week.
Piscopo also heads for the exit door following a three-year spell with the club. The 23-year-old leaves having made 59 appearances for the club, scoring eight goals and providing a further eight assists.
He scored four in 22 games this season and also added three assists. Piscopo has been heavily linked with the Newcastle Jets, while there has also been talk of him joining a club in Melbourne.

All will become clear in the coming days but wherever he ends up Phoenix coach Ufuk Talay is confident he will be a big success for years to come.
“I wish him all the best and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him,” Talay told the club’s website. “Reno’s a talented player, which I still believe hasn’t really reached his full potential. I think injuries hindered that potential and talent to come out the last two seasons.
“He’s a good kid, he’s got a great character and I think he’ll have success wherever he goes because I think he has the right tools to do that.
“I think he’s going to be a very good player. I think he’s a really talented player with a lot of attributes that will push him to have a really good career.”
