NRL: Raiders hit by Croker setback

Canberra Raiders have been hit by the news Jarrod Croker is facing more time on the sidelines after  suffering a dislocated shoulder while at home.

The Raiders are priced at 8/5 to finish in the top eight this season and Croker is crucial to them, if they can get him out on the park.

Big setback for Croker

The 31-year-old is having a nightmare on the injury front right now. Croker made his first appearance of the season against the Bulldogs in round nine only to suffer a dislocated shoulder in the game.

He has not played since but was in line to face Parramatta this weekend. However he has somehow dislocated the same shoulder while at home and will need scans to discover the full extent of the damage.

It remains to be seen how long he will be out for but the game against the Eels on Sunday is a definite no-go.

Raiders forward Adam Elliott says the news is hard to take for the entire playing group as they were looking forward to having the influential co-captain back available.

Elliott gutted

"It was definitely sad news this morning when I found out, I was so excited just to get in here and see him," he told reporters. "All the boys have been keeping tabs on how close he was to coming back, I know how excited he was.

"He's not just such a good bloke but he's such a good player too. We don't know the severity of it, but we will be getting around him and supporting him and hoping that he's out there with us."
