Free agent outfielder Michael Conforto is reportedly being eyed by the Colorado Rockies.
The 29-year-old turned down a qualifying offer from the New York Mets, deciding to try the free agency market instead.
The Rockies are 100/1 to win the 2022 World Series and they have been linked to other free agents in Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber as they look to add some more big hitters in their lineup.
The former All-Star hit .259 with 118 home runs between 2015 and 2020 but was disappointing at the plate in 2021. He hit a modest .232 with 14 home runs, while missing about five weeks of the season due to a strained hamstring.

Conforto would move to a hitter-friendly ballpark in Coors Field, which almost certainly would improve the numbers, though how much would Colorado expect to pay for the left-handed outfielder. Could Conforto take a one-year deal and try free agency again next winter?
Since the 29-year-old rejected the qualifying offer from the Mets, whoever signs him would require giving up a draft pick and there are doubts as to that being something that the Rockies would be willing to pursue, especially in a shortened season, which looks likely.
The Rockies offered their superstar shortstop Trevor Story a qualifying offer, which was rejected. So they will get a pickback, when Story gets the big contract he deserves. Colorado do have plenty of room for Conforto in the outfield, as he could play in either corner and Charlie Blackmon could stay in right-field and also operate as a designated hitter.
Over a dozen teams had some interest in Conforto that appears to have cooled and now it’s only the Rockies and the Miami Marlins that have been linked.
