Aaron Rodgers wasn't ready to think about a trade request or retirement, but said he didn't want to be part of a rebuild if he keeps playing in the aftermath of the Green Bay Packers' play-off exit to the San Francisco 49ers.
Robbie Gould's 45-yard field goal as time expired sealed San Francisco's 13-10 upset of Green Bay at a snowy Lambeau Field on Saturday night and sent the Niners, 4/1 to win Super Bowl LVI, on to the NFC Championship game.
It could also bring the curtain down on Rodgers' 18-year Packers career with Green Bay left with some difficult decisions to be made by both parties this offseason.
"Certainly, we want him back here," Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters following Saturday's Divisional Round defeat.
"I think we'd be crazy not to want him back here. He's going to be the two-time MVP. This guy does so much for our football team. No only what you guys see on Sundays or every game day, but what he does in that locker room. How he leads."

Rodgers was more measured in his response to questions over a return to the Green and Gold in 2023 and if it was possible for the Packers to make another Super Bowl run.
"I don't know. That's a fair question," he said, via nfl.com. "Definitely one I've thought about. But there are a lot of decisions to be made. Key players, a lot of guys who played tonight, so many guys whose contracts are up or on the brink or salary cap stuff.
"I don't want to be part of a rebuild if I'm going to keep playing. So a lot of decisions in the next couple of months."
