Unbeaten colt Sejardan will return for his first start of 2022 in Saturday's Inglis Millennium as part of a measured build-up to the Golden Slipper on 19th March.
The two-year-old is 2/1 for Saturday's $2m 1100-metre feature at Warwick Farm and another strong showing would only add to the buzz around him heading into the $3.5m Slipper.
The son of Sebring, who won the season-opening Breeders' Plate at Randwick and the $1m Golden Gift at his only two starts, impressed trainer Gary Portelli in a gallop with Listed winner Royalzel on Saturday.
Sejardan, who was a $160,000 buy for his trainer, warmed up for this coming Saturday's assignment with a barrier trial at Warwick Farm on 20th January in which he finished fourth, two and a half lengths behind Listed-winning filly Ebhaar.

Portelli won the Golden Slipper with his filly She Will Reign in 2018, and believes Sejardan is well placed to strike in the feature juvenile races this autumn.
The New South Wales-handler feels there are all the ingrediants for his colt to shine over the weekend, as he continues his progress towards the Slipper, which will be included in the Sports Live Streaming section.
"He carries a bit of extra weight so that would have tightened him up nicely," Portelli said.
"We're on track for the weekend, then it's five weeks until the Todman, then the Slipper is a fortnight later. That's the plan.
"He's a good horse. I don't know if he's going to win a Slipper yet, but he's on the right path and for me, he's the horse they have to beat."
