Aussie Rules: Simpson committed to Eagles

West Coast Eagles coach Adam Simpson has committed his future to the club following reports linking him with North Melbourne at the end of the season.

The Eagles did begin the season looking to make the top eight this season, but following a horror start to the campaign that looks highly unlikely.

Kangaroos link

There had been talk of North Melbourne attempting to lure Simpson at the end of the season. The Kangaroos continue to struggle and rumours have suggested David Noble could be axed.

However as far as Simpson is concerned he is fully committed to the Eagles and wants to lead the charge to get the club back on track.

"I’m here for as long as the club wants me, and I’m actually excited about what we can do in the future," Simpson said.

"Obviously it looks pretty dire at the moment, but that’s all part of it. That’s part of leading and being resilient, the other stuff, that comes with the job."

The Eagles face a daunting prospect on Sunday at Optus Stadium. Reigning premiers Melbourne are the visitors but Simpson says his patched-up side will be up for the fight.

"We’re not turning up our toes, we want to come in for a good experience and have a crack and see what we can do," he added. "It will be good learning experience for them, but we want to stay on the front foot.

"Trying to come in with some positivity and growth, that’s the starting point.”
