Skyfall Benchmark will continue on his quest to race in the New South Wales Derby when he takes to the track at Newcastle on Friday night.
Trained by Clayton Harmey, Skyfall Benchmark is entered in the opening race of the card, the Ave Technologies Pace, and all eyes will be on the talented three-year-old.
Harmey has been pleased with the way Skyfall Benchmark is tracking and says bigger and better things could be on the horizon if his charge continues to wrack up the wins.
Skyfall Benchmark finished eighth in the 2021 NSW Breeders Challenge last start but was not beaten that far and Harmey was encouraged by the performance.

But with the NSW Derby on the horizon, Skyfall Benchmark has some improving to do to get there.
"He raced in the best company last season and was unlucky not to have made the Bathurst Gold Crown final," Harmey told reporters. "He took out the consolation and raced consistently after that.
"The owners are keen to set him for the NSW Derby, so he will have to show plenty of class to contest those big races.
"He is fit enough for tonight’s assignment and the instructions will be for him to be taken forward to avoid any risks."
Meanwhile Harmey also has Kayla Maguire, who is unbeaten in four Australian starts, in race four and the trainer is hopeful the streak will continue despite a tough draw.
"She has plenty of class and while gate nine is challenging, Blake will give her every chance," he added.
